Our Coronavirus Plan at La Romi

Well what strange times we live in with a global pandemic. We all have a responsibility to make sure that we help keep the most vulnerable safe and so wanted to write a little article about what we are doing and a few measures you might also find useful.

Soap + Hand Sanitizer

Soap is super effective against viruses because it destroys the fats that keep the virus structure together. This is why in the studio we have soap and are hand washing before while on shift and then we bought hospital grade hand sanitizer for on the go when we are entering the building etc..

Viruses can stay on hard surfaces for upto 72 hours and is less on fabrics.

Know where your items come from!

Thankfully this is very easy because we buy all of our fabric ourselves sources from local shops and some online retailers. We have taken the precaution of not buying new fabrics for now unless needed and when we do leave in the packaging for over 72 hours to be sure.

Combined with our hospital grade hygiene standards we are all set to delay the spread :)

If symptoms arise

One thing worrying workers is being told to take time off to isolate is a small price to pay for having to escalate issues like closing schools which will really throw a spanner in the works for a lot of families.

The advice is to isolate if you have a persistent cough or a temperature of 37.8C (100F) or more. You can find out how many confirmed cases are in your area thanks to the BBC tracker: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-51768274

We are instantly putting our staff on sick pay for this too :) and being a family business we will also try to support them more if needed.

Ordering online for the super anxious

If you are worried about the spread from delivery drivers etc.. we recommend opening envelopes we send with scissors at the top and then emptying the contents on the floor and disposing of the envelope in the recycling bin and washing your hands.

We have taken every precaution with whats inside the bag and because we pack the items ourselves you should only be concerned about the outside of envelopes. Of course with cases still being fairly rare you might find yourself wanting to do this more in the future as current estimates put us in a similar position to Italy in about mid April.

Always here to help

We are always on hand to answer any questions about your order or be able to find answers to other queries like our safety procedures :)

As a small family business with a little 9 month old baba to look after we are taking responsible precautions without just hauding toilet paper and rice haha.
